Sustainable Government

One must be a conservative to believe in sustainable living. Think about it...First why does conservative and conservation share the same base word, conserve? Conservatives believe in conserving life...all aspects of life.

A conservative government is a sustainable government. A conservative government will not spend money the country doesn't have. Yes, some republican presidents have done that. Just because some one is a republican, it doesn't mean they are conservative. I say that but you must realize some presidents need to spend more money when wars are occurring (i.e. Reagan - Cold War, Bush I - Gulf War, Bush II- Iraq, Afghanistan). In order to win a war, you must provide the troops everything they need to be victorious. That means spending money.

A liberal government who doesn't care about spending money is not sustainable. They spend money they don't have. Our country and government is going bankrupt. To be sustainable, it is essential to be conservative...economically and environmentally

  1. The authors appear to think that the Democratic Party wastes money and spends tax dollars on "nonsense." Can insuring the 30 or so million Americans without health insurance be considered nonsense? If people don't like the cost of the health care bill and don't like who will be expected to cover the cost, then that's one thing. But I would hardly call Obama's goal nonsense, especially since several presidents before him tried to accomplish this same goal. And if conservatives like to "conserve all aspects of life," then wouldn't health care be a good way to accomplish this objective? And seeing as how the United States is the wealthiest country in the world, doesn't it seem kind of silly that so many of its citizens are without something as basic as health care?

  2. Maybe I missed where the word "nonsense" appears but I may have overlooked it. I do believe, though, the current health care bill is nonsense.
    - Insuring the 30 million or so Americans who do not have insuracne with this current health care bill is unattainble. If you read the CBO report, you'd understand that millions will still not be covered.
    - The cost of the health care bill is shaddy politics at best. The current health care bill doesn't reflect the doctor fix. It also includes taxing for years before the health care is actually provided.
    - I think is very important to realize that all Americans don't necessarily want health care. The majority of individuals without insurance are 18-25 year olds who have just finished high school or college and have not yet either attained health care through their employers, don't care about having health care, or simply don't want to pay for it.
